Alex is a freelance drummer and band leader. He is based in Cardiff, and plays regularly in the South West and London. He recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a BMus Honours Degree in Jazz Performance. During his time there Alex explored many different types of music alongside jazz of all styles, including Cuban, Brazilian, Funk, Reggae, Afrobeat, Hip-hop, folk, musical theatre and contemporary music.
Alex has been passionate about music and performing since picking up an ocarina at age 6. As well as drums and percussion, Alex plays the trumpet and piano/keyboards and has played in bands and orchestras since he was 8.
Over the years Alex has performed in many venues and events around the UK. These include Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Arundel Cathedral, Brasenose College Chapel Oxford, The Southbank centre, Cheltenham Music festival, The Piccadilly Theatre London, The Welsh Parliament, Cardiff international Food and Drink festival, Love Supreme Jazz Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival.
